Day 2: Sleepless Scribbles

Wide awake at 4 in the morning and I reached for my Samsung Galaxy Tablet for a scribble. I’ve had insomnia since my teens and have tried everything except sleeping pills, but it isn’t too bad these days and I can usually get back to sleep within the hour. Normally I draw from life, but lying in bed this morning I just scribbled randomly and this is what came out. I think it’s a fallen angel and souls in hell. Cheerful eh? πŸ˜€

    You might find it interesting to know that before the industrial age and the reign of artificial light, people regularly woke up in the middle of the night for an hour or so, puttered around or visited a bit, then went back to bed. This middle of the night sleep interruption was called the “first wakening” and was considered entirely normal. Your body may just never have accommodated itself to the “modern” idea of 8 continuous hours of sleep…If you’re curious for more info, you can read about it here:

      Thanks, I have seen this and I more or less live like this now, but Husb i an early riser and sleeps right through the night. πŸ™‚
