Not My Kind Of Thing …… But ….

Today I had my weekly lunchtime date with The Cheese And Wine Painting Club run by the painter Ed Sumner. This week’s subject is a vase of flowers. It’s not my kind of thing and it’s hard, but it’s really good practice. The basics of the painting are done now but I’ll probably do another couple of hours on it over the weekend.

A Chance To Own One Of My Artworks

I have some small screenprints for sale, inspired by my drawings of the taxidermy collection at Swansea Museum. I have given these antique artifacts a modern twist by combining them with images of rubbish – old fruit nets, bubble wrap and plastic – highlighting the problem of human pollution and how it affects wildlife.

To buy my work on the Swansea Print Workshop site please click the image to the left and to see the complete image.

20 percent of the cost of each screenprint sold goes to support Swansea Print Workshop, which receives no public funding.

Thanks. I did a bit more today and I hope I’ll finish it tomorrow 😀

Couple of hours? No! The idea was it’s freestyle and spontaneous. I may tweak my flowers as I don’t like the highlights and shadows but I don’t intend spending long on them as it would ruin the whole effect. A lot of the participants were well outside their comfort zones but I loved the expressionistic approach.

Oh no, I have to get it the way I want it. It’s bugging me now 😀
