Latest News: “Carving Heads And Other Creatures”(a new exhibition)
Over 20 of my linocuts are featured in an Autumn exhibition at The Workers Gallery in Ynyshir in the group show, “Manifest” and my collection is called “Carving Heads And Other Creatures”. Each one is a unique work of art, produced by the hand of the artist, not by a machine or computer.
If you haven’t visited The Workers, please do, it’s a lovely gallery, artist-led, and in a beautiful but overlooked part of South Wales.

Who am I?
I am Rosie Scribblah aka Rose Davies and I’m an Artist, Blogger and Educator.
I draw directly from life, carrying a sketchbook at all times looking for any opportunity to have a scribble. And I’m a printmaker and occasionally a painter.
I work from my studio in Swansea, Wales, UK and I am a member of Swansea Print Workshop.
I make art on the streets, in public indoors and outdoors, bringing my practice directly to people who may never have been into a gallery or seen art being created.

I have a Masters in Adult Education from University of Wales, Swansea; a Post Graduate Certificate in Education from West Glamorgan Institute of Higher Education; and a Diploma in Art from Swansea Art College.
I have exhibited in traditional and online galleries; nationally and internationally; on television; and carried out residencies in the USA, Germany, Pakistan and Wales.

My work with homeless people and others excluded from and by society is reflected in the subjects I choose and sometimes leads to commissions, like this one for SkyArts television channel. It’s a very large woodcut and also a spoken word piece, meant to be read out loud.
MY BLOG
I POST an artwork a day, mostly drawings but sometimes work in progress and printmaking. I have thousands of drawings in sketchbooks; it’s hard to exhibit sketches in galleries and yet lots of people like to see drawings, so a blog seems like a good idea. It also motivates me to keep trying to sketch every day – it’s easy to let life get in the way of drawing. For a direct link to my blog pages please click here.
