Babysitting a little nephew this evening and we’re watching films in the dark. There’s just enough light to pick out his features.

I'm an artist / printmaker / scribbler. I love drawing and all the geeky stuff associated with printmaking, working in a figurative style. I live in Wales with husband and demented cats. And my real name is Rose Davies :D View more posts

Very effective!
Lovely sketch. It is so much easier to draw with a tablet in the dark, than with paper, isn’t it? Discovered that a while ago, brought back memories of attempting to draw in the dark boiler room in school, with our eccentric art teacher who insisted it was fun 🙂
Thanks. Yes, I am enjoying doing it. We often watch films in the dark in the house and the tablet is great for drawing in these conditions ☺
This one is extra special, maybe because it borders on chiaroscuro and I love that technique so much. The layering adds extra depth to counteract the strong contrast.
Thank you. It’s a good exercise to draw in the dark.
