Films and Podcasts

I have over 70 films on my YouTube channel, divided up into several categories and you can find the picture links to the playlists below. Lower down the page you will see films made about some of my commissions and other subjects.

Films

9 to 90

I really love the 9to90 Community Arts programme, it’s rare to have free public art sessions that include many people who might not normally go into art galleries. Please see below a couple of films of me delivering sessions as part of the programme.

Now The Hero (14-18 commemoration)

I am so fortunate to have worked with the artist Marc Rees, filmmaker George Morris and my long-term life model, David Williams, to create a unique monotype for the “Now The Hero / Nawr Yr Arwr” art happening / event / extravaganza that climaxed at the end of September 2018. I worked from one of the drawings I did in the Brangwyn Hall using one of the fabulous antique presses at Swansea Print Workshop. You can see the process and the inside of the print workshop in George’s film below.

Podcasts

10 PAINTINGS AND A CUPPA TEA

Hiya, Rosie Scribblah here. http://www.scribblah.co.uk Welcome to my latest podcast. It’s called 10 Paintings – I don’t do long podcasts. Just enough time for a cuppa tea and a biscuit. Or a Welsh cake.

Green

Hiya. Rosie Scribblah here with another tea-break podcast, just enough time for a cuppa tea and maybe a biscuit. This one is about the colour Green which I read about in Victoria Finlay’s book “Colour: Travels Through The Paintbox” and also a bit of local history thrown in from the area I lived in.

Blue

Hiya. Rosie Scribblah here with another of my podcasts. This one is about the colour Blue, which I read about in Victoria Finlay’s book “Colour: Travels Through The Paintbox” easily one of the best books I’ve ever read.

Black

This is my third podcast and it’s called PURITANS AND PIRATES: Booze and Brothels and the Colour Black. And it’s about where the colour black comes from. It is mostly based on the book:

Colour Travels Through the Paintbox by Victoria Finlay

RED

Here is my second podcast. It is about the colour red and is mostly based on the book

Colour Travels Through the Paintbox by Victoria Finlay

Käthe Kollwitz

Here is my first podcast.  It is about one of my favourite artists Käthe Kollwitz.  Here is a screen print I did of her.  To own one of my series of silkscreen portraits celebrating great but often neglected women artists please click the image.

  1. Just watched ‘Here Be Dragons’ film – Rose’s opening line, that the Union Flag, has never represented Cymru – so true, but so few people realise this… and all because Henry VIII decided to impose the so-called Act of UNION on Cymru! Irony that Sky Arts (well done them) commissioned Rose to create a new ‘British’ flag representing Britain after Brexit, when the existing flag doesn’t even represent Cymru!!! Loved the film and totally, absolutely, LOVED Rose’s re-imagining, provocative and beautifully-poetic artwork!!!!!!!

    1. Thanks so much David. It was very thought-provoking for me as I was making the artwork. The one in the Sky Arts documentary is now in the collection of the National Library of Wales

  2. you re not the only one to love it…I love it too! thank you for all you do it’s great. and its also what I want , a lifelong confrontation.
