Finally caught up with the 21st century and got a tablet, a Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0. Oooh get Me! So now I’m trying to find my way round the drawing apps. This is my first attempt at a digital scribble. Long-suffering Husb manned up as usual. I love playing with new tools.

I'm an artist / printmaker / scribbler. I love drawing and all the geeky stuff associated with printmaking, working in a figurative style. I live in Wales with husband and demented cats. And my real name is Rose Davies :D View more posts

Hi Rose
Enjoying the blog and the artwork Sian x x
Thanks 🙂
Welcome to the digital age, it can be fun but it’s much easier with pen and paper.
Yes I’ve realised that after a couple of evenings. Back to pens now 🙂
I recognized your style without even knowing the drawing was done on a tablet. Sounds like you will have a great time with your new “toy”…
It’s interesting but I’m finding it’s much quicker with a pencil or pen if I’m honest 🙂
Sweet! So, does it come with a stylus, or do you just use your fingers? This is a great diggie creation…I’d say you’re finding your way around pretty well.
Thanks, it comes with a smart stylus, as opposed to a stupid one I guess? 🙂
I don’t know WHY they insist upon making the stupid ones…hehehe 😉
Nice! Get you! LOL looks like you’re finding your way around really well – but don’t forget the paper and pencils/charcoal/pen etc. that you handle so well! 🙂
haha no, this’ll never replace ‘proper’ drawing, but I have specific purposes for the tablet.
Great what you can do with it. Awesome! Happy day to you. 🙂
Thanks 🙂
Try ProCreate Rosie. It’s the most painterly app I’ve come across yet 🙂
Thank you, I’ll look for it 🙂
Cool! I got one of those too, but I’m way to clumsy for all that fancy gadget stuff. Plus I kept drooling on it while I was working… 🙂
hahaha and when you wipe the drool away it leaves a random drawing on the screen lol
As much as I love this I still prefer your traditional sketches! 🙂
Thank you – I won’t be giving up my sketchbook 😀
Oh no! They’ve got you too. Never fear, I shall resist the eDrawing apps!
And I love it, by the way. 😉
hahaha I’m getting used to it because I’ll be going on holiday soon and it will be difficult to blog from my sketchbook 🙂
How interesting. Must get a drawing ap for my android. Would love to know what you`d recommend.
Early days yet, this is a free app called Magic Marker and it’s really basic, so it’s a good one for me to start with.
Thanks for that,Rosie.
Love it! Can’t wait to see more of what you can do with a tablet.
Thank you. I’m hoping to use it more for developing printmaking
The Galaxy looks great, looking forward to see what you do with it! I recently lost a galaxy note phone, I will eventually replace it with one of these one day (when I have paid for the one I lost!)
ouch! that must have been awful. They’re not cheap.
Nice! What apps are you playing with? I’ve tried a few and the one I like most so far is Sketchbook Pro by Autodesk. Fun stuff.
Thanks I’ll check that one out. This si my first drawing and I did it on Magic Marker, a free app. I like it so far because it’s very basic and uncomplicated.
Absolutely love this Rosie.. you clever girl you!! was it expensive?
Thank you. It wasn’t too bad. I registered as a business customer with PC World and got quite a bit of discount. Husb and I needed a small portable gizmo and I’ve wanted a drawing tablet for ages, so this gives us everything we wanted in one go. There are cheaper ones that are pretty good. We went for an Android system because neither of us like Macs
It’s all good 🙂
