Back to work today after a couple of weeks off, so Husb and I fitted in a visit to our allotment after work. I enjoy digging and it was a lovely evening after a terrible start to the day, it was pouring down this morning. Our allotment is behind Oystermouth Castle in Mumbles and this is the view we saw as we left this evening. We live in such a lovely part of the world.
I did a quick sketch when we got back home, using a photograph. I chose to draw a baby because they have such weird proportions that it’s a challenge. They look like little aliens with big heads and tiny scrunchy faces. Drawn with a Faber Castell Pitt drawing pen size S into my leather Steampunk sketchbook.

Magical Swansea, Wales
That is so magical I can barely believe it. You do live in a lovely part of the world!
We don’t realise it, we’re so used to it. There are at least 6 castles in the Swansea area. This one, Oystermouth, is about 900 years old and parts of it are still in use. There’s an art gallery in there ☺
Such a beautiful picture! I wish we had castles here. We do, however, have plenty of mosquitos (as big as sparrows!), so I appreciate bats as well.
Aaarrrggghhh that big? !?
Relatively. 😁😉
Hehehe
What a gorgeous time of day for working the garden. Hope the mosquitoes have settled down. I shut myself in because the bugs have been bad this summer. 😉
We are lucky, don’t have mosquitoes. We have midges but they don’t come out until dusk, as we were leaving and we wore long sleeves so didn’t get any bites. The bats were out in force, gobbling them up.
