I sent most of today at Swansea Print Workshop, working on some small reduction lino blocks. I printed on the Victorian Columbian press; it’s my favourite and it’s beautiful.
I used Intaglio Printmaker’s softblock for the cutting and a lightweight Japanese paper for taking the prints.
I was on my feet all day. Art is a very physical job and I’m shattered.

I don’t think people have any idea how strenuous physically it is making art.
You’re right. I think because so many people do art as a hobby, dipping in and out as they want, they don’t know what it’s like to be at a printing press for a 6 hour stretch, or an easel. It’s the difference between hobby and professional sportsmen. I hope you are feeling a bit better x
What I like best after a day standing and printing is to see my weight has gone down when I go to the gym the next day!
