Angels Are…Byzantine: 3

Still on the subject of “Angels”, I’m really getting into angels in Byzantine art traditions, especially mosaics and icons. I started this one with some light pencil then worked into it with my home-made walnut ink and a fine Escodar brush. Then I added some white Liquitex acrylic ink. Next stage is to do some fine pen work, I think. The paper is re-used printmaking paper coated with acrylic screenprint ink.

Just one more week of my exhibition, “Carved Heads And Other Creatures”, part of MANIFEST at The Workers Gallery in Ynyshir. The show runs until October 31st. Open Saturdays 10.00 – 17.00, other times by appointment. Please come and have a look if you’re in the are in the area.

I'm an artist / printmaker / scribbler. I love drawing and all the geeky stuff associated with printmaking, working in a figurative style. I live in Wales with husband and demented cats. And my real name is Rose Davies :D
