I went to my first pyrography training yesterday and I tried out the technique with one of my Mari Lwyd drawings. It took some getting used to, I made a lot of smoke! But I got the hang of it eventually and started to enjoy it. The technique shows a lot of promise and I think I might take it further.
There’s some high tech gear there, I’m used to using more traditional tools, so it was fun. The session was led by Declan of D’Captured Pyrography, he’s a really good teacher, energetic and enthusiastic.


This technique seems to lend itself to the subject material.
