Come Up And See My Etchings

Finally, here they are, two of my newest little [A6] photopolymer etchings. There are more to come but I’ve just got back from life drawing at Swansea Print Workshop and it’s my bedtime, so I’ll post the rest over the next couple of days. Goodnight 🙂

I'm an artist / printmaker / scribbler. I love drawing and all the geeky stuff associated with printmaking, working in a figurative style. I live in Wales with husband and demented cats. And my real name is Rose Davies :D

  1. Fantastic, Rosie! Really good!
Incidentally, one of my friends at Hot Bed Press really did use the line in your title on his wife-to-be! And he really had some etchings to show her!

  2. I have really enjoyed seeing your etchings, Rosie. These solar plates are so nice; there is a lovely moodiness to the pieces.

    1. Thanks – I’ve really enjoyed learning the medium and it’s inspired me to do loads more. I’ve been looking for a way of producing a brooding sort of quality in my printmaking and I’ve found it!

    1. Thanks Helen. In the original drawing, that image is reflected in the drawing room mirrors and I’d concentrated on drawing the front view, only sketching in the reflection in the last few minutes of the pose. As luck would have it, the reflection is far better than the one I spent nearly an hour on!

    1. Thanks Hansi. I’ve been using a dip pen and Indian ink since I did that Renaissance drawing course a couple of months back and the medium seems to come out like that – a bit Aubrey Beardsley.
