We had a new model at life drawing tonight. She’s great but I always find it hard when I start to draw a new model, until I get used to them. I generally use different drawing materials with different models so it takes a while to work out what I’m going to use.

Puzzled by your statement “different drawing materials with different models”. Isn’t there a risk of “saminess” with this? I try different things to try and keep the drawings fresh.
I mix it up a bit but I also find that one model, for example, seems to work best with big, bold pastels while another might work best with tiny paper and a dip pen.
I love the colours and pose on that second one.

Lucky you, having a life drawing class. i loved plumb models back in the day.
Yup – go every week. Nothing beats practice except more practice.
