It’s hard to know when a piece is finished. I often turn them to the wall and don’t look for a few months. This one hadn’t been looked at for about 3 months and when I turned it round the other day (I’d forgotten about it), I liked it the way it is and won’t be doing anything else to it. Finished!
A2 Fabriano coated with acrylic gesso, coloured with thin layers of acrylic wash in yellow, red and blue then worked up the imag in conte crayon and oil bars.
Glad you stopped. Definitely finished. I like and use the “put it away and don’t look at it for a while” technique myself.
Thanks. It’s a good technique isn’t it?
I am amazed every time when I haven’t looked at something for months how it managed to change itself without ever leaving the drawer I stuck it in!
It’s true! And sometimes it also looks much better than I remember it 🙂
Great colors and great feel! Well done!
Thank you 🙂
god thats amazing. the colours are yum. how much do you sell prints for?
Do you mean reproductions? I make original prints but I haven’t looked into repros yet.
oh either i guess
Love it! And the practice of leaving things a while. I have been unable to complete a huge project. Frustrating- too strenuous.
Here’s the funny part. Husband was cutting bright orange netting from Christmas tree-I realized it looked like axons and neural nets-the perfect thing to fill a dead spot on the 4th panel. So waiting will have made this infinitely better!
Thanks. It’s something I’ll be doing regularly from now on 🙂
Looks finished to me too. Very nice piece.
Thanks Hansi
All I can say is…wow. Well done. 🙂
Thanks 🙂
What a fabulous piece, the form, the colours, I almost expect her to toll over in her sleep as I watch.
Thank you. The hand took ages!
