I’ve spent a couple of days cataloguing my work, a task I’ve been putting off for ages. I’ve rediscovered pieces I’d completely forgotten about, like this block print I made some years ago. I went through a phase of cutting nudes in lino and then went off it. I don’t know why. Now I’ve found this again I really like it. Printed onto Zercoll 145 gsm paper with Intaglio Printmaker relief ink.

I'm an artist / printmaker / scribbler. I love drawing and all the geeky stuff associated with printmaking, working in a figurative style. I live in Wales with husband and demented cats. And my real name is Rose Davies :D View more posts

I like this very much indeed Rosie.. where do you normally sell your work?
Thanks Helen – I’m slaving over a hot laptop for the next week or so, finishing my website and then I’ll have a catalogue and shop 🙂
Lovely. I loved lino back in school even though we only got to work with a small square each – I still have the stamp I made. This is such a striking piece. Glad you found it again and shared it with us!
Thanks 🙂
Reminds me of a linocut self portrait I did way way back in college. The linoleum really forces you to be efficient in your design. And the best part, for me anyway, is it’s so easy to cut!
I love block printing but lino can be intimidating because it’s so expensive these days !
