The Name Game

One of the things I find hard to do is think up names for my artworks. I don’t want to number them #1, #2, #3 and so on. And I don’t like to label them ‘Untitled’, so I often struggle to name a piece. This little lino block of a dancing March hare was easy though.

Obvious really. Disco ‘Rabbit’ Stu. 😉

Based on an original drawing, cut into lino, printed onto Japanese lightweight hand-made paper with black oil-based litho/relief ink using a Colombian Press at Swansea Print Workshop.

I'm an artist / printmaker / scribbler. I love drawing and all the geeky stuff associated with printmaking, working in a figurative style. I live in Wales with husband and demented cats. And my real name is Rose Davies :D

  1. Always a tricky one. Ben McLaughlin has an interesting take on this. Saw an exhibition by him a while back, American landscapes in oil, with the all titles taken from random News papers headlines or crossword clues. Just googled him and his latest series seems to be titled from tv listings.

  2. Yes, indee. Sometimes it’s a not so easy to find a name for a piece of art. Then I named it like something out of the common. 😉 Have a nice weekend still.
