The Hard Hand

Just back from life drawing at Swansea Print Workshop. I chose to punish myself this evening with a foreshortened hand. It was hard. After the tea break (with a Victoria Sandwich) we had a one-hour pose and I spent the whole time working on this hand and knee.

I'm an artist / printmaker / scribbler. I love drawing and all the geeky stuff associated with printmaking, working in a figurative style. I live in Wales with husband and demented cats. And my real name is Rose Davies :D

  1. I can’t impress enough upon people the importance of eating cake to aid the artist in improving technique. Victoria Sponge comes highly recommended when tackling the complexities of foreshortening.

      1. No I have not! I have just been potching around until now. I’m going to be investing my two days off into my art work from after Easter. I have a million ideas whirring around and up until now I’ve had no time to refine any of them. My life drawing needs some more work for a start! So I need to have look at this I think.

      2. Do you have titles for these books? Best life pose I’ve drawn was a lying down one with the legs curled round so you couldn’t see the feet and the hands hidden beneath the body!
