I took some digital photos at the Wassail and Mari Lwyd parade in Chepstow yesterday and I’m using them to try out the CONCEPTS free graphics package. Husb downloaded it for me a few months back but I haven’t done much with it yet. It’s weird using a stylus and the angle of drawing onto the screen is a bit strange too. The airbrush is odd, it lets me cover some areas and not others. I suppose I should watch a YouTube tutorial, but I get so impatient.

I have just tried to emil you in order to ask permission to use your Mari lwyd eye-detail image in a little YouTube film. The email was returned to me, undelivered. I love the image. It captures the gentle playfulness and humour which the best carriers of the Mari are able to express – more benevolent than spooky! Would it be OK for me to use your Mari art in my film, please? It is not a professional effort – I just like composing and recording, and I want to present the song to the world in as engaging a manner as I can!
