Just been doing a Zoom painting tutorial with the painter Ed Sumner (of the Cheese and Wine Painting Club), copying “The Bar At The Folies Bergere” by the Impressionist Edouard Manet. It’s a two-parter, we’ll finish it next week and I’m about halfway through. Off to bed now because it’s late and I’m shattered 😀

I'm an artist / printmaker / scribbler. I love drawing and all the geeky stuff associated with printmaking, working in a figurative style. I live in Wales with husband and demented cats. And my real name is Rose Davies :D View more posts
A fantastic painting so I look forward to seeing your version. It visited Australia many decades ago and my lasting memory is that while standing looking at it an impeccably dressed Mittel European woman stood next to me and said “that woman is so ugly, she is such a peasant.” and walked off. It certainly stuck in my mind.
Oh how rude and riddled with class hatred! I think she’s fabulous, her expression says so much 🙂
