We’re at that time of year when the old Welsh tradition of The Mari Lwyd / Y Fari Lwyd, is awakening from her slumbers ready for her night, Hen Galan, a month away early in the New Year. I’m going to post my archive Mari Lwyds throughout December and early January to get us all in the mood. Here’s one who visited Gellionen Chapel six years ago – back in the days before Covid19. I drew her in black, sanguine and white conte crayon into a brown paper sketchbook.
A Month Of Maris #1.

I'm an artist / printmaker / scribbler. I love drawing and all the geeky stuff associated with printmaking, working in a figurative style. I live in Wales with husband and demented cats. And my real name is Rose Davies :D View more posts
