Grappling With A Beard

Here’s a 15-minute pose from a recent life drawing session. It’s long enough to get stuck into some analytical drawing. I find it a bit harder to draw a face with something on it, like glasses or a beard. These things make measuring even more difficult than it is. But it’s good practice. The likeness isn’t spot-on, but it’s getting there.

I’ll be running a weekend linocut course based on Dewi Bowen and Olwyn Pritchard’s book, “Hunting The Wild Megalith” on February 28th and March 1st at Swansea Print Workshop. Please click here to find out more.

I'm an artist / printmaker / scribbler. I love drawing and all the geeky stuff associated with printmaking, working in a figurative style. I live in Wales with husband and demented cats. And my real name is Rose Davies :D
