Cafe, Coffee, Scribble…

Popped into my favourite cafe, Waterstones in Swansea, earlier for a coffee and of course, I had to have a scribble. Just a quick one.

Quick Conference Sketch: 3.

Here’s another quick sketch I did at the conference I went to last week. It was quite a relaxed event and this guy across the room was very laid back in his chair. I used a Faber Castell Pitt drawing pen (Sepia, size S) into my small leatherbound sketchbook.

Quick Conference Sketch: 2

I was at a conference over last weekend. It was a good one, not one of the boring, meaningless jollies I remember from my younger working days. I guess people don’t have time to waste now, or demand better value for money. But I found a few minutes here and there to have a quickContinue reading “Quick Conference Sketch: 2”

Wonderful Colourful.

Husb and I have been at a conference all weekend, it was hard work but really informative and provocative – in a good way – provoking thought and plans and action. I managed to find a bit of time for sketching though, with my Faber Castell Pitt drawing pens (Sepia) and Inktense watercolour blocks. IContinue reading “Wonderful Colourful.”

Bearded Quickies.

I did some quick sketches today, of the same man but from different angles. He has a beard, high forehead and glasses which is a difficult combination to sketch. It’s all good practice though.

More Porto Pavement People.

Some more of the very quick sketches I did last week on holiday. I like to stand on the pavement and speedily scribble people walking along, most people move quite fast. I prefer to follow someone from when they’re quite a way down the road. I used a Faber Castell Pitt drawing pen, size S,Continue reading “More Porto Pavement People.”

Porto Pavement People.

I sometimes stand on the pavement and scribble people walking along. Most people move quite quickly so my sketches are speedy. I generally spot someone when they’re quite a way down the road and follow them as they get closer, focusing on the essence of the figure, not the details. I did a few ofContinue reading “Porto Pavement People.”

Chilling With A Scribble.

Husb and I went for a stroll, it was a nice day, and we stopped for a coffee in Coast Cafe on the mouth of the river. I scribbled the guy silhouetted against the window and used the continuous line method to get the proportions right. Just a little bit of practice.
