Just doing a quick check on the carving so far, using good quality tracing paper and a block of graphite. Carving With Different Tools…
Carrying on carving my little piece of plywood. I like experimenting with my Flexcut tools. Some printmakers restrict themselves to a couple or three tools but I like to try them all out, they give interesting textures.
Drawing To Carving…
I sat on a bench on Kilvey Hill and did a very quick charcoal sketch of some trees. Then I redrew it onto a piece of plywood and started carving. Once the carving is finished, I’ll ink it and print it.

Looking back through my old blog posts month by month, I’ve reached December 2011, about 6 months after I began this blog. Older relatives were increasingly in hospital, I spent a lot of time there, visiting, a good place for sketching, quiet and peaceful.

Bill sat on the table earlier. I should have shoo-ed her off but she was throwing some good poses so I had a very quick scribble before she jumped down.

It’s Saturday Caturday and here’s Sparta Puss asleep on my Flexcut cutting tools. She wasn’t too impressed that I was getting on with some art stuff and not giving her enough attention (enough is never enough!) so she subverted me!

Husb and I went out for a stroll this evening. We used to do it a lot before Covid19 and even during the lockdowns, we took our allocated one hour a day.
