Fancy Schmancy Shorts

I see loads of different and very sketchable clothes at gigs, I try to draw the interesting ones. This pair of fancy schmancy (long) shorts impressed me and stayed still long enough for a good scribble.

Doing My Scales…

A very quick scribble from the crowd at a recent gig at Elysium, just a minute or so, ballpoint pen into an A6 sketchbook (fits into my pocket). Drawing In The Dark

Out gallivanting at a gig again on Saturday night, having a scribble as ever. It was very dark and this bloke was all in black with long black hair and this is what I ended up with.

The Flat Hat.

It seems that flat hats are back. I always associate flat caps with old blokes, but now that I’m old, it’s a bit of a surprise seeing young men wearing them. Leaning…

Here’s another of my quick gig scribbles, this guy was sitting and leaning his arm against a pillar, while his other arm leant against the bar. I used the continuous line technique which helped to establish the proportions between the chair and the two people.

Overlaying Scribbles.

Out at Elysium a few nights ago (such a gadabout!) and I was having a scribble while listening to some funky rap. I was trying to draw a crowd scene but people kept moving around. Llangiwg Church is a fascinating place, very ancient with a huge yew tree alongside, which indicated it may be built on an earlier Celtic holy site.
