I’m having a bit of a practice doing atmospheric drawings straight into my Khadi sketchbook that I’d prepared with an Indian ink wash. I used willow charcoal, carbon and graphite and focused on mark making to make different effects on the surface of the paper.

Pre-washed
A description of 1980s denim fashion and also my way of preparing some of my little Khadi handmade paper sketchbooks (15cms square) with random ink washes using dilute Indian ink applied with a small piece of natural sponge. Some Days You Got It…..

Freeing Up
Just back from life drawing at Swansea Print Workshop. I try to get there every week for practice. I don’t go to produce a perfect drawing; it’s a chance to loosen up and try out different things. It’s a pity to waste the paper because it’s good quality. This is a piece of Bockingford, around A3 size, with a cyanotype that didn’t work out. I didContinue reading “Recycled Head”
Manky Women Artists #MWA
I don’t often go on Twitter because it steals my life away, but I was on it for a while earlier today and shared a bit of a joke with some other women artists. We were all tomboys as kids and now we’re all grown up, we don’t do frocks and stilettos, fancy nails andContinue reading “Manky Women Artists #MWA”
