#Caturday: Just Scribbling

It’s getting stormy outside, Autumn is definitely here so Husb and I and cwtched inside the house with the cats. I had a quick scribble when Sparta Puss sat next to me. She was looking a bit cross, but that’s not unusual for her!

Here’s a digital drawing of the Late, Great Little Ming, a tiny, fluffy, pretty one-eyed Naughty Tortie, who was also the scourge of our local vet’s surgery! We could pick her up, cwtch her, snuggle her, but when she was put into a cat basket and taken to the vet, she turned into a demon!Continue reading “#Caturday Archives: 27”

Here’s a drawing from June 2014, when Husb and I visited the Belvedere Gallery in Vienna. I saw this wonderful sculpture of a cat by Franz Barwig and scribbled it.

Mulberry Paper And The Ghost Prints

Here are some of my little linocuts on the drying rack at Swansea Print Workshop. I’ve printed the block, “Should Bill Get Some Bacon?”, with a golden yellow mulberry paper as chine collé but I also took secondary, or “ghost” prints each time onto tissue paper to prevent the build-up of ink on the block.Continue reading “Mulberry Paper And The Ghost Prints”

The nice thing about sketching on my Galaxy Tablet Note 8 is that I could hit the “save” button regularly and make a record of the stages of the drawing. I used a Markers free appContinue reading “#Caturday Archives: 25”

It’s such a long time ago now, that I did a month-long artist residency in Pakistan, it was wonderful. And I met a Pakistani cat called Messi. So I drew him. I was going through a digital drawing phase at the time, using a free Markers app on my Samsung Galaxy Note 8.

Back about a decade ago I went through a phase of drawing on a Galaxy Tablet using a free “Markers” app. This is a digital sketch of a young Sparta, she was about 4 and a half years old here. She’s 16 this Autumn.

#Caturday Saturday

Aaaaaand it’s that time of the week again, when the world puts their cats on show. I started sketching Sparta Puss earlier, when she was asleep, then she woke up and walked away. She’s a tortoiseshell, or maybe a calico, but mostly black with flashes of ginger and white socks. Adorable.
