It’s back to January 2018 for this week’s #Caturday sketchbook archive, an ink drawing of our Little Ming, the one-eyed fluffy tortoiseshell. She’s in her favourite place, on top of the boiler in the window next to the kettle. Plenty of sources of warmth for her. I have an exhibition, “Carved Heads And Other Creatures”,Continue reading “#Caturday Archives: 60”

One from January 2018 for this week’s #Caturday Saturday, a sketch of Sparta Puss in a free Markers app on my (now old) Samsung Galaxy Note 8. I have a new exhibition, “Carved Heads And Other Creatures”, part of MANIFEST at The Workers Gallery in Ynyshir. The show runs until October 31st. Open Saturdays 10.00 – 17.00,Continue reading “#Caturday Archives: 59”

December 2017 and here’s a sketch of Little Ming, our furry tortie rescue cat. Husb and I had taken her from a very neglectful home after we found her emaciated, seriously ill from a lung infection and barely alive. We took her straight to a vet and paid for emergency treatment – her eye wasContinue reading “#Caturday Archives: 58”

Here’s a throwback to November 2017 for this week’s #Caturday Saturday. Sparta Puss looking very lively, she was about 8 years old here and she’s still going strong.

Here’s another little drawing of Sparta Puss from September 2017. I did a lot of sketching with a Markers app on my Samsung Galaxy Note 8 back then, until I got bored with it and went back to analogue. I’ve never gone back.

I did a lot of sketching with a Markers app on my Samsung Galaxy Note 8 back then, until I got bored with it and went back to analogue. I haven’t been tempted to return to digital drawing, I like the feel of drawing materialsContinue reading “#Caturday Archives: 55”

Here’s a digital drawing of Sparta Puss from September 2017. I was experimenting with a Markers app on my Samsung Galaxy Note 8, getting used to it. I did a lot of digital drawings for a while, then I got bored with it and went back to analogue drawing.

Here’s the late, great one-eyed Little Ming for this week’s #Caturday sketchbook archive, she was a very hairy tiny tortoiseshell cat that we rescued from neglect. Poor thing nearly died and spent several nights in the vet’s hospital and had to have an eye removed because her “owner” had neglected her so much. She wasContinue reading “#Caturday Archives: 53”

Can you believe it’s come round again! It’s #Caturday Saturday and here’s Sparta Puss back in September 2016, “helping” me when I was sketching Husb. She likes to “help” a lot, particularly in the garden. I plant things, she pulls them back up. And clean laundry too, needs helping by being lolled upon while I’mContinue reading “#Caturday Archives: 49”

It’s #Caturday Saturday again and here’s another cat sketch from my sketchbook archives, May 2016. Sparta Puss was moving around a lot so I only managed to draw her head. She was about 7 years old here, and always quite the tyrant. I have three linocut prints in the Miniprint Cymru Wales exhibition in Mostyn inContinue reading “#Caturday Archives: 48”
