Painting The Cat For Fun

sparta 3

I’m not literally painting the cat. She wouldn’t stand for that. I’m doing a painting of Sparta Puss based on a digital drawing I did a while back (on a Samsung Galaxy Note 8). I’m doing it for fun. I rarely paint but I’ve been enjoying myself for the past few weeks, joining in with the Friday Cheese and Wine Painting Club on Facebook which helps keep me focused on positive things.

I’m using Liquitex Heavy Body Acrylic paint onto a Winsor & Newton canvas and a set of Daler Rowney brushes for acrylics. Sparta Puss is using her best mildly annoyed expression. Here’s the original digital drawing.

More to do tomorrow – I’ll have to have a think about the background….

I'm an artist / printmaker / scribbler. I love drawing and all the geeky stuff associated with printmaking, working in a figurative style. I live in Wales with husband and demented cats. And my real name is Rose Davies :D

  1. I thought that might be SpartaPuss when you first posted that initial layer of orange! I told myself I just see cats everywhere . . .
