No More Faffing On Monet’s Cliffs

26 Apr

Another fake finished …. I’m on a roll here. This is a copy of Claude Monet’s “Cliff at Grainval” that I started with Ed Sumner’s Cheese and Wine Painting Club on Facebook about a week and a half ago. I didn’t much like it, there are plenty of other works by Monet that I prefer but I’m doing these weekly painting to learn new skills and I think it’s good discipline to push through the dislike and get it finished. Here are some of the stages I went through, using Liquitex acrylic paint onto canvas. Ed has been running the paint club for over a year now, since the start of the first pandemic lockdown and I’ve done about 50 fakes so far.
