Scrapings!

I did a bit of painting today, using Liquitex Heavy Body onto a canvas board and I had little bits of paint left over. It’s very good paint, I didn’t want to waste it so I scraped it onto a small stretched canvas with a palette knife. Instant abstraction. It looks a bit spidery toContinue reading “Scrapings!”

Sometimes You Gotta Play…

I carried on playing with the coloured papers from the other day, zooming in on sections and enlarging them to see what they looked like. I don’t know if it will lead to anything, but sometimes you’ve got to just chill out and play a bit in order to develop. I used Liquitex Heavy BodyContinue reading “Sometimes You Gotta Play…”

Playing With Paint And Paper

I played around with some paint (Liquitex Heavy Body) and offcuts of paper (Bockingford 280gsm) and a palette knife, scraping the paint over the surface to make the most of the texture. I worked veryContinue reading

Let’s Get Ready To Roller…..

I’m rollering grey paint (Liquitex) onto black canvas (The Works) with a sponge roller. I’m trying to be as bold with my painting as I was recently with my drawings during my residency in Germany. Let’s see where this goes…

I rooted around in the garden for a selection of leaves for my recent adult education session on Gelli plate printing. The delicate leaves at the top are from a dwarf lilac, Flowerfesta Pink, that is still growing new leaves in mid-September. The ones at the bottom from the hardy evergreen ivy. Although sceptical aboutContinue reading
