Just Let Go

Jazz book 4

This looks simple, just a bunch of scribbly lines, but it’s the product of years of practice building enough confidence to just “let go” and not worry about doing a ‘proper’ drawing – if there’s such a thing…..

I'm an artist / printmaker / scribbler. I love drawing and all the geeky stuff associated with printmaking, working in a figurative style. I live in Wales with husband and demented cats. And my real name is Rose Davies :D

  1. Yes, ‘proper’ drawing. I will be working with some new sketchers in a few month’s time and ‘proper’ drawing I fear will be the thing that holds them back from enjoying themselves.

    1. I teach a few hours a week and it’s a perpetual problem, this idea of ‘proper’ drawing. I’ve even met someone with an MA in Art History who wouldn’t try drawing for the same reason.
