Gadding About in Paris

Yep. I’m on my travels again, courtesy of Eurostar and a budget hotel, Husb and I are in Paris for a couple of days. Arrived this morning and already shattered, we crammed in Notre Dame, Saint Chapel level, a sculpture park and some heavy duty walking. It’s very hot. Here’s a young mother and herContinue reading “Gadding About in Paris”

Back To Quickies

After two days working on one large drawing installation, it’s back to speed sketching. I did these two little scribbles in the cafe in Waterstones bookshop. It’s a nice place to chill out; everyone’s reading their purchases and staying quite still. I love bookshops and especially ones that serve tea and cake. IContinue reading “Back To Quickies”

Street Scribble #1

Sometimes I only have a minute or two to scribble someone in the street. Here’s an elderly man sitting outside Starvin’ Jacks the other day.  I grabbed my sketchbook and did my thing. When I came back at the weekends I could taste the tang of salt in the airContinue reading “After The Deluge….”

The New Doctor

My sister and I hid behind the settee peeping at the TV through our fingers. Our Mam had never seen us so scared before and threatened toContinue reading “The New Doctor”

Girlies On Top

Had a bit of a paddle down the beach the other day and spotted a group of 6 or 7 young women practicing rugby on the sand. They were athletic and attractive and soon got the attention of a group of lads about the same age who sounded like they were on holiday from England. Continue reading “Girlies On Top”

Black To White

Had a day at Swansea Print Workshop, working with a group of other artists during Open Access sessions. The organisation receives very little public funding and is mostly run by it’s member / volunteers, so I spent quite a bit of my time there today on the sort of admin tasks that are frustratingly uncreative,Continue reading “Black To White”
