Sleeping Fox

Bogged down in admin most of the day. Planning something big and the next 2 days are crucial. If it comes off, I can reveal all by the end of the week! Meanwhile, it’s hard to find the time to do anything creative so I’m keeping on with the practice drawings on my Samsung GalaxyContinue reading “Sleeping Fox”

Foxy

Husb and I were visiting family this evening, very dark and wet, when we saw something in the headlights run across the road up ahead. A fox! Rather a beautiful one, sleek and well fed with a huge, fluffy, white-tipped brush. I’ve only seen an urban fox a handful of times in my entire lifeContinue reading “Foxy”

Hare Pair

Today I finished cutting the small lino block of a hare that I started a couple of days ago. When it was completed, I liked the idea of cutting a mirror image to make a pair of hares. They’re similar, not identical and I cut them with my set of Flexcut tools, using a FlexcutContinue reading “Hare Pair”

Hare Cuts

*Groan*, another bad hare pun! I’m using some of the wildlife sketches I’ve done to develop some very simple lino blocks that will be printed up into smallish editions in the next few weeks. I’ve just made a start on the first one. I’ve hand drawn the hare onto the lino, using my original sketchContinue reading “Hare Cuts”

Badgered!

I’ve had enough of hares and I’ve moved onto badgers. I very rarely draw animals, except cats, so it takes a while to get used to alien anatomy. Here are the first two sketches, trying to get to grips with the proportions and where different bits go. They have blocky little legs. By the thirdContinue reading “Badgered!”

Hare Raising

hmmmm how many puns about hares can I get away with? 🙂 I’m still practicing drawing hares, alternating between the Samsung Galaxy Tablet and pencils. Another day or two and I’ll move onto another animal. I visited the old Swansea Museum today. They have an exhibition on Alfred Wallace with some taxidermy including foxes andContinue reading “Hare Raising”

Here’s A Hare

I’ll be working on British wild animals for a while; I’m not letting on why just yet,but expect more hares, some hedgehogs, badgers, foxes, red squirrels and maybe a Scottish lynx over the next couple of weeks. I’ll also be using my Samsung Galaxy Tablet to draw them,so I’ll be getting plenty of practice doing digital drawing.
