After one of the wettest summers on record, we’ve had a couple of dry sunny days, so Husb and I were off to the allotment which needed a lot of work after a month of rain. I had a huge amount of weeding facing me, everything has grown huge including the weeds. I did loadsContinue reading “Weeding And A Male Nude”

Bruises, Plums And A Nude
Today there was sunshine! After a month of monsoon we had a dry day so Husb and I tackled our back garden, which had grown into a lush jungle after all the torrential rain throughout August (apparently the wettest August since records began). It’s become so overgrown that we spotted a huge rat hiding inContinue reading “Bruises, Plums And A Nude”
A Sky Full Of Opals
Husb and I strolled along Swansea Beach this evening and I took some photos of the extraordinary sky – it looked like it was full of fire opals shimmering above us. The weather has been appalling throughout the so-called Summer, so maybe this is the harbinger of something better for the Autumn. “The sky atContinue reading “A Sky Full Of Opals”
Sun, Storm And A Nude
After the excitement of last night’s opening of our group exhibition, ‘People And Place’, Husb and I had a lazy day. We went for a walk in the sunshine and treated ourselves to lunch in a lovely local restaurant, Mosaic. It seems like I haven’t had a day off for ages. It’s not justContinue reading “Sun, Storm And A Nude”
Open At Last
So our exhibition is finally open! Loads of people came to Oriel Ceri Richards in absolutely filthy weather and it was buzzing. Lovely evening. It runs until September the 26th and now I’m going to bed. For about a week. G’night 🙂 zzzzzzzzzzzz
Telling A Story
Sometimes when I’m out scribbling on the street, a story unfolds. There were three elderly people sitting on a bench in Bath last Saturday enjoying the street artists in A FAB Intervention when a woman wandered over to them and started talking in a very animated way. That made the drawing more interesting for me toContinue reading “Telling A Story”
Hot And Sweaty Scribbling
Here’s a sketch I did out on the street in Bath last Saturday as part of Fringe Arts Bath. I drew throughout the afternoon with The Plebeian Scribblers, a group of 4 artists from South Wales who draw in public. We took a timer and changed position every 10 minutes so each sketch is timeContinue reading “Hot And Sweaty Scribbling”
Car Park In Cardiff
Husb and I went to the Art Car Bootique in a car park in Cardiff today, mainly to visit Dylan’s Mobile Bookstore featuring guest artist Simon Dark. I stopped for a few minutes to scribble Simon as he created some of his stencil art about authors – Dylan Thomas, William Burroughs, Edgar Allen Poe, AllenContinue reading “Car Park In Cardiff”
FAB Day Drawing
I spent a hot and happy day with three fellow artists at the Fringe Arts Bath. We formed a group, The Plebeian Scribblers to do live drawing in the street as part of a larger intervention by lots of performance artists, A FAB Intervention. We each did 10 drawings of ten minutes each. That’s aContinue reading “FAB Day Drawing”
Reclaimed
Some time ago I bought some second hand silkscreens. They had photochemical stencils on them and needed to be cleaned so that I can re-use them. They had been originally coated with Speedball Diazo photoscreen emulsion so I had to use Speedball’s remover. I poured a little remover onto one side and quickly spread itContinue reading “Reclaimed”
