Thrilled to bits that this copy I painted of van Gogh’s “Sunset at Wheatfield Near Arles” has been sold for my fundraiser for LATCH, The Children’s Cancer Charity. It’s one of nearly 60 paintings I have done since the start of the pandemic lockdown early last year with Ed Sumner’s Cheese and Wine Painting Club on Facebook. I am selling a selection of them to raise money for LATCH, which has given so much support to a young relative and our family for the past three years.

I’ve donated 10 of the “fakes” I’ve painted with the Cheese and Wine Painting Club to raise funds for LATCH, the Welsh Children’s Cancer Charity that has been so supportive to my young nephew here over the past four years. We’re running the fundraiser throughout September and already sold FOUR, which is brilliant.

Here are the first three short poses from last night’s life drawing sesh at Swansea Print Workshop, the two on the left are 5 minutes each and the one on the right, 10 minutes. I used conte crayons in black and sanguine onto a middleweight paper. I especially like the pose on the far left – our model did a contemporary ‘selfie’ stance, really funny.
LATCH, The Children’s Cancer Charity, Painting Fundraiser
I’ve been painting ‘fakes’ with Ed Sumner’s Cheese and Wine Painting Club on Facebook since lockdown started in Spring 2020. I’m selling some of them to raise funds for this lovely charity which has given so much support to my young relative over the past few years.

Hiya. Since the COVID19 lockdown began over a year ago, I have been painting every week with Ed Sumner’s live tutorials on the Cheese and Wine Painting Club on Facebook. Ed teaches painting skills by copying work by great artists. I write on my artblog every day and as I’ve been putting these paintings up onto my blog I have been asked many times if I would be willing to sell them. The idea is attractive but I don’t want to make money from copies. But as the lockdown has run on and on, I now have almost 50 copies of masterpieces and I’ve decided to sell some of them to raise money for a charity chosen by my young nephew here.

LATCH
LATCH supports the children and their families being treated by the Oncology Unit at the Children’s Hospital of Wales, whose catchment area stretches from Chepstow to Aberystwyth. Around 70 new cases of childhood cancer are diagnosed every year. LATCH has been supporting members of my own family and I wanted to raise some funds for this lovely charity.
LATCH was formed in 1982 by a group of families and friends who recognised that the children diagnosed with cancer or leukaemia and their families not only needed medical support, but also social and welfare support to ease the huge financial and emotional burden placed on families with a child in treatment.
They do fantastic work but are not funded by the NHS; in fact they often donate equipment to the children’s cancer unit. All their funding comes from things like this so it would be great if you could buy a painting and help them out. You get a beautiful copy of a painting by one of the great masters to hang on your wall and at the same time you donate to the valuable work of an invaluable service. Please click here to see the work they do.
Please browse the 10 paintings I’ve selected for this fundraiser by clicking on the image above. The full cost of the paintings will go directly to LATCH and if you’re interested in buying one, please follow the instructions from LATCH below. I’ll be running this fundraiser throughout September. Please share this as far as you can to help this charity. Thank you xxx

Swansea prints
To buy my work on the Swansea Print Workshop site please click the image to the left. Inspired by drawings of the taxidermy collection at Swansea Museum. I have given these antique artefacts a modern twist by combining them with images of rubbish – old fruit nets, bubble wrap and plastic – highlighting the problem of human pollution and how it affects wildlife. 20 percent of the cost of each screenprint sold goes to support Swansea Print Workshop, which receives no public funding.
£850 raised for LATCH: The Children’s Cancer Charity
My September painting fundraiser for LATCH, The Children’s Cancer Charity, is now officially over. Thank you to all those who bought paintings and donated. Also to those who shared and cheered from the side-lines.
