Lazy Bones

Husb is putting captions to my cat drawings, for a laugh. They’re so accurate too. This is Sparta Puss chilling out, drawn with a Faber Castell Pitt drawing pen into a very nice sketchbook made with banana leaf paper.

There’s Millions Of Them!

Another bit of fun from Husb and me. Sometimes you just gotta loosen up and have a laugh, art can get very serious. Husb has been adding captions to my drawings of our cats, done over many years, we’ve been cat people for decades. This is Sparta Puss pointing out the obvious. She doesn’t haveContinue reading “There’s Millions Of Them!”

Mission To Kill

Husb and I have been having fun, he’s been taking some of my drawings of our cats and adding his own text to them. This is the late, great Little Ming, a tiny fluffball and so very sweet, except with vets. It was her mission in life to kill vets. She had a red dotContinue reading “Mission To Kill”

Still Revolting….

Patti McJones and Rosie Scribblah are Revolting Women. Oh yes we are. And we’re coming to a venue near you soon (well, near you if you live by Swansea, Wales, and soon-ish, around International Women’s’ Day in March).

Keep On Sketching

Sometimes the creative juices don’t flow like they should, there’s a few artists I’ve been chatting to online who are in the same predicament. I find it helps to keep working through it. You don’t have to create great art, just keep doing the exercises. It’s like a musician practicing their scales or chords. IContinue reading “Keep On Sketching”

A Big Box Of Pencils

I did a bit more work on my next woodcut today, making a tracing from my original drawing to transfer the image onto the wood block. I used a thick charcoal pencil for the tracing because I have to turn the tracing paper over to reverse the image onto the wood. Once the reversedContinue reading “A Big Box Of Pencils”

Mamelles

Out and about this morning, I had an ice cream in Joe’s ice cream parlour and then nipped down to the beach for a quick scribble in my A4 brown paper sketchbook, with conté crayons in black, white and sanguine. The light was quite dramatic, full of chiaroscuro. That’s Mumbles in the background. The nameContinue reading “Mamelles”

Revolting Women

Patricia McKenna Jones and I are revolting women. We are working together to do an exhibition of our work for International Women’s Day in March. Watch this space!

Newest Member

Went out with family this evening and had a quick scribble of our newest member as she was having her feed. Babies have strange proportions and I find them challenging to draw because I find myself wanting to draw what I think should be there, rather than what is there. It’s lovely to have aContinue reading “Newest Member”
