I checked into the live life drawing session on BBC4 this evening and did this 5 minute sketch. I couldn’t stay for the full programme, it’s family Zoom quiz night, but I’ll catch up with it later in the week and draw the rest of the models. There’s a lot of art happening on the TV during lockdown, it’s great. The model is copying the pose of Velazquez’ Rokeby Venus. I used a solid graphite block onto some vintage Fabriano paper.

Inspired by drawings of the taxidermy collection at Swansea Museum. I have given these antique artefacts a modern twist by combining them with images of rubbish – old fruit nets, bubble wrap and plastic – highlighting the problem of human pollution and how it affects wildlife. 20 percent of the cost of each screenprint sold goes to support Swansea Print Workshop, which receives no public funding.

Hey Rosie I glad to see certain things don’t change..as always Sheldon
Hi Sheldon, how are you doing in lockdown?
Wow…live life drawing on TV. Sadly over here in Trump-land we only have live porn, which makes it hard to draw because they’re moving around so much 🙂
I suppose you could ‘pause’ but I suspect it might be difficult to catch them in a ‘classical’ pose 😀
Brilliant! My husband did it as well, enjoyed it, but I think he realise how “rusty” he is with life drawing!
It was great, once Husb had done that thing with the Red Button. I didn’t even know we had a Red Button – very Doctor Strangelove 😉
