Mostly I blog at night and this is my 1001st blog post so I thought it was a neat title. I have just come back from life drawing at Swansea Print Workshop. I concentrated on portraiture this week. It’s nice to have a very hairy person to draw and I got very Renaissance in myContinue reading “1001 Nights”

Fiendish Foreshortening (Female Nude)
Just back from life drawing at Swansea Print Workshop and here’s a drawing in progress. The pose was about 45 minutes. I used my Samsung Galaxy Tablet Note 8 using the free Markers app, saving regularly to keep a record of the development of the drawing. I like to go to life drawing regularly as theContinue reading “Fiendish Foreshortening (Female Nude)”
Lush Leftovers
Just back from the opening night of Leftovers 4 and Public Gestures, two cracking exhibitions of international printmaking at The Cove in Swansea. Head And Shoulders
Just back from life drawing at Swansea Print Workshop and I have been focusing on drawing a head and shoulders pose. Our model was sitting above my eyeline with her head tilted back which I find very hard to draw, so it was good practice. I used my Samsung Galaxy Tablet Note 8 using theContinue reading “Head And Shoulders”

Back To Normal
Just got back from the life drawing session at Swansea Print Workshop. I’ve been home from Pakistan for 5 days and need to re establish my regular routine. I have worked with this model for some years now; tonight I decided to focus on doing a portrait. I saved it frequently to show the developmentContinue reading “Back To Normal”
The Hard Hand
Just back from life drawing at Swansea Print Workshop. I chose to punish myself this evening with a foreshortened hand. It was hard. After the tea break (with a Victoria Sandwich) we had a one-hour pose and I spent the whole time working on this hand and knee.
The Name Game
One of the things I find hard to do is think up names for my artworks. I don’t want to number them #1, #2, #3 and so on. And I don’t like to label them ‘Untitled’, so I often struggle to name a piece. This little lino block of a dancing March hare was easyContinue reading “The Name Game”
Just Ten Minutes
Another digital drawing from Thursday night’s life drawing group at Swansea Print Workshop. This is a 10 minute warm-up sketch, drawn on my Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 with a free Markers app.
