Quick Conference Sketch: 1

I was at a conference over last weekend. It was a good one, not one of the boring, meaningless jollies I remember from my younger working days. I guess people don’t have time to waste now, or demand better value for money. But I found a few minutes here and there to have a quickContinue reading “Quick Conference Sketch: 1”

Wonderful Colourful.

Husb and I have been at a conference all weekend, it was hard work but really informative and provocative – in a good way – provoking thought and plans and action. I managed to find a bit of time for sketching though, with my Faber Castell Pitt drawing pens (Sepia) and Inktense watercolour blocks. IContinue reading “Wonderful Colourful.”

Bearded Quickies.

I did some quick sketches today, of the same man but from different angles. He has a beard, high forehead and glasses which is a difficult combination to sketch. It’s all good practice though.

The Rediscovered Sketchbook.

Sometimes I put a sketchbook down and forget about it for months or even years. I don’t know why I do it, some of them just seem to fall out of favour or maybe a I fall in love with the novelty of a new one. This little leather-clad book is one of these. IContinue reading “The Rediscovered Sketchbook.”

Unplanned Scraping.

I carried on with the nocturne painting by scraping on some pinks with a palette knife. It wasn’t planned, I had some Titanium White, Medium Magenta and Dioxazine Violet left over from another painting and as always, “waste not, want not”. I’m not sure if the colour will make it though to the final pieceContinue reading “Unplanned Scraping.”
