A Scribble

Husb and I went to the excellent Cinema & Co on Saturday night to see a film about graffitti back in the 1970s and then stayed on to hear performances  y Craze The Jack, Rufus Mufasa, Unity and …. I’ve forgotten! Must be a senior moment.

Babysitting

I did some babysitting this morning. I didn’t sit on them, honest. We walked down to the beach, just a few minutes away and we’re having an uncharacteristic heat wave, so it was lovely down there, with lots of people enjoying the sand. The sea was right out but there were a few pools leftContinue reading “Babysitting”

A Tea And Cake Party

And here’s the third of the cohort of lifelong friends and Baby Boomers who came to Swansea for me to draw them over the weekend. Thanks to them I’ve almost finished drawing one hundred Baby Boomers. It’s taken over three years so far but I hope to draw number one hundred in July and thenContinue reading “A Tea And Cake Party”

The Generations

Carrying on with my self-imposed task to meet with, chat to and draw one hundred Baby Boomers, I was lucky enough to ‘capture’ three in one go yesterday, three lifelong friends at the upper end of the Baby Boom, a research term that covers those born between 1946 and 1964. The other generations are: TheContinue reading “The Generations”

Nearly There

Just over three years ago I decided to draw one hundred people from my generation, the Baby Boomers. “It’ll be over by Xmas” I thought. Famous last words, But I’m nearly there and today drew number ninety seven. Oh yes!!!   It’s a big demographic, starting in 1946 and continuing through to 1964, which isContinue reading “Nearly There”

Sprogs In Sketchbooks

I’ve been flicking through some of my old sketchbooks again, finding things I’d forgotten about. There are quite a lot of drawings of sprogs.   They’re weird little creatures to draw, looking simultaneously like aliens and cartoons.

A Cluster Of Heads…

I’ve been flipping through old sketchbooks, reminding myself of work I’d forgotten about. I came across a cluster of heads in one that I’d bought from the Tate gallery in London. Nice sketchbook. I like drawing heads and faces, but children’s faces are so difficult. The younger they are, the more they look like anContinue reading “A Cluster Of Heads…”

That Lightbulb Moment

Husb and I stopped off for a nice cuppa tea and a flapjack (I do enjoy a moist flapjack) and I scribbled him quickly as he queued. He’s quite tall and was standing right underneath a glass light fitting and it looked a bit like one of those lightbulb moments in the comics when someoneContinue reading “That Lightbulb Moment”

Dracula In The Sun

Husb and I spent the Bank Holiday visiting the North East of England, looking at places we’ve been meaning to see for years and finally got around to it. We dropped in on Whitby, home of  Whitby Jet jewellery ( I collected a few antique pieces back in the 1970s before it was fashionable) andContinue reading “Dracula In The Sun”

Rainbows In Durham

Husb and I have been doing a mini tour of North East England over the Bank Holiday and visited the historic town of Durham yesterday, which was hosting a Pride festival. There were rainbows everywhere.  I had to have a scribble,  didn’t I? So I did a bit of pen and watercolour work enContinue reading “Rainbows In Durham”
