Pencils First

After the mess I made of my last pair of legs (a drawing, not actually my gams), I sketched out the next pair in pencil, instead of going straight in with a ballpoint pen. I’ll sleep on it and when I’m happy with the pencilling, I’ll work it up in ink. These legs are partContinue reading “Pencils First”

I Done It Wrong!

Sometimes you put a lot of effort into something, stand back in satisfaction when it’s finished and…it sucks! It’s wrong! That’s what happened when I tried drawing the foot on the right a few days after drawing the one on the left. Maybe I should have done them at the same time.

#Caturday Saturday

I carried on playing with some Derwent Aquatone watercolour sticks that I was given a while back. I did a blend of Prussian Blue, Ultramarine and Light Blue a couple of weeks ago and today worked in some Spectrum Orange and Middle Chrome. The cat shapes are from a stencil I cut of our littleContinue reading “#Caturday Saturday”

Practicing Legs: 1

I don’t know if it will lead to anything, but sometimes you’ve got to just chill out and play a bit in order to develop. I used Liquitex Heavy BodyContinue reading “Sometimes You Gotta Play…”

Playing With Paint And Paper

I played around with some paint (Liquitex Heavy Body) and offcuts of paper (Bockingford 280gsm) and a palette knife, scraping the paint over the surface to make the most of the texture. I ripped the offcuts up and arranged them onto backing paper, to see what happened, then took photos of the compositions that IContinue reading “Playing With Paint And Paper”

Y Delynor: The Harpist

Husb and I normally go to metal and rock gigs, but for a change we went along to Mission Gallery in Swansea yesterday to listen to a performance of the Welsh Triple Harp by the harpist (y delynor) Robin Huw Bowen. It was enchanting. I’ve never heard anything like it. Husb and I loved it.Continue reading “Y Delynor: The Harpist”

Back At The Bunkhouse: 3

A couple of backs at the Bunkhouse in this little scribble. Husb and I were there over the weekend, it’s a good venue. The man had HUGE trainers.
