Fancy Schmancy Shorts

I see loads of different and very sketchable clothes at gigs, I try to draw the interesting ones. This pair of fancy schmancy (long) shorts impressed me and stayed still long enough for a good scribble.

I didn’t stop at one pair of heavy metal legs, oh no, I did another (and I’ve got a third pair on the go). Legs – Inked And Printed.

Here’s the first print of my little linocut “Heavy Metal Legs” that I based on many sketches of legs at heavy metal gigs in recent years. It’s a 10 x 10 cm square ready for submission to Miniprint Cymru.

Inking Up My Legs…

Well, not my legs exactly, my little lino block based on my series of sketches called “Heavy Metal Legs”. I’m using black Cranfield Caligo Safewash oil-based Relief Ink and traditional grey lino. I used Flexcut tools to cut the block.

Aaaaaand it’s that time of the week again, when the world puts their cats on show. I started sketching Sparta Puss earlier, when she was asleep, then she woke up and walked away. She’s a tortoiseshell, or maybe a calico, but mostly black with flashes of ginger and white socks. Adorable.

Carving Tattooed Legs.

I’m working on some small blocks of grey lino, making art for the forthcoming “Welsh Miniprint” exhibition. This is based on many drawings I’ve done of legs at heavy metal gigs. It’s very small so I’m using my tiniest Flexcut gouge to carve the detail of the tattoos.
