And the final scribbles from Saturday’s carnival in Bath. Drawing moving figures is a challenge but really good practice and I don’t normally get the chance to do it. That’s one of the advantages of drawing en plein air.

More Bath Time
Three kids in a Lazy Lounger and a man with nothing better to look at in the Bath Carnival at the weekend…..
Scribbles From the Bath Carny
Husb and I went to Bath this weekend to visit friends and go to the Carnival. I like a good carnival. When I was a nipper, there used to be loads of carnivals in working class areas, with floats and what we called “Jazz Bands” who didn’t really do jazz but tunes on jingly thingsContinue reading “Scribbles From the Bath Carny”
The Hat And The Fox
Here’s the final pair of drawings I made during Fringe Arts Bath last Saturday. Working with an ad hoc group of artists, The Plebeian Scribblers, we did some sessions of performance drawing in the street during A FAB Intervention, curated by Melanie Ezra and Tim Kelly. The drawing on the left features the hat ofContinue reading “The Hat And The Fox”
Middle Aged Legs
Out with The Plebeian Scribblers at Fringe Arts Bath on Saturday, the four of use did a choreographed drawing performance. Well, simply choreographed. We turned and faced a different direction every 7.5 minutes, turning 90 degrees each time and drawing what was in front of us. After the complete 360 degrees we went back toContinue reading “Middle Aged Legs”
Fox In The Street.
I spent last Saturday drawing in the street at A FAB Intervention, a public art event in Fringe Arts Bath. I am part of an ad hoc group called The Plebeian Scribblers and four of us drew in unison in the centre of Bath, giving passers by the opportunity to see artists in action. IContinue reading “Fox In The Street.”
Hot Public Scribbling
This is the fourth year that I have been involved in the fabulous Fringe Arts Bath, a crazy, anarchic festival of visual and performing arts, taking place all over Bath’s city centre, in empty shops, old mortuary chapels and the street. Last year and this year I was one quarter of a four part comboContinue reading “Hot Public Scribbling”
Scribbling A Shaman
Not long back from drawing with The Plebeian Scribblers at Fringe Arts Bath (FAB). It’s been a beautiful day but very hard work with lots of travelling so I’m going to catch an early night – more about FAB tomorrow 🙂 I drew this shamanic figure into my A3 bound sketchbook with chalk and blackContinue reading “Scribbling A Shaman”
S’Up In May And June?
What am I up to? I’m working through a load of art events that I’ve been preparing for ages. I’ve done TRANSITION, a public art event on May 20th and 21st 2016 in Swansea’s Creative Bubble Artspace with the 15 Hundred Lives art collective. And then May 28th I was in Fringe Arts Bath’s “AContinue reading “S’Up In May And June?”
Live To Draw Again!
This is a 10 minute sketch of fellow artist Chris Harrendence who is one of the 4 members of The Plebeian Scribblers and we spent a day last weekend doing ‘live’ drawing in Fringe Arts Bath. We had a set amount of time split into 10-minute slots. Once 10 minutes was up, we changed positionContinue reading “Live To Draw Again!”
