I had a couple of difficult months leading up to and just after Xmas with some of the seasonal viruses going around, so my annual Mari Lwyd print was put on hold for a while. I finally caught up with myself this week and printed my little Mari Lwyd lino blocks with foil chine collé.Continue reading “And Finally…Mari Lwyd!”

#Caturday Silhouette 9.
This #Caturday Saturday, my negative silhouette of little rescue cat Bill shows a drawing I did a few years back of a carved stone in the little church in Llanrhidian on The Gower Peninsula. I cut the image of Bill from some very heavy textured paper that I recycled, I painted it black and startedContinue reading “#Caturday Silhouette 9.”
Sketchbook Archives: 23
Here’s a selection of people sketches from my sketchbooks in February 2013. That was 7 years before Covid lockdowns when I used to be out and about scribbling so much. I sort of got out of the habit after lockdown, but also there seem to be far fewer people just hanging out in the cityContinue reading “Sketchbook Archives: 23”
#Caturday Archives

#Caturday: Sketchbook Kitties.
It’s #Caturday Saturday again and here’s a couple of pages from my sketchbook in 2012. Husb and I had four cats then, so it was easy to find a constant supply of feline models.
Two Minute Head: 4
Christmas has been put to bed for another year and I’m chilling out after the mayhem. I hope everyone has had a nice time. I’ve been doing 2-minute sketches of heads from my scrapbook, just enough time to get the basic features nailed, but not enough time for faffing. It’s good practice.
Two Minute Head: 3
A quick, 2 minute. speed sketch from a load of heads I cut out from newspapers and stuck into a sketchbook. I don’t generally like to draw from photos, but doing it at speed makes it seem more intuitive and less like copying. Well it does to me anyway.
Two Minute Head: 2
I recently started to do quick sketches of heads from newspapers that I’d cut out and stuck in my scrapbook. Just 2 minutes for practice at getting down the essentials of a face, not the details. It’s good practice. I used to sketch out and about all the time, but I’ve become more reclusive sinceContinue reading “Two Minute Head: 2”
#Caturday Nadolig Llawen
It’s that time of year again, when I dig out Husb’s digital drawing of Snowflake Sparta Puss to wish everyone Nadolig Llawen, Merry Christmas, Cool Yule. Have a good one xxx
Getting Sticky…
I’ve been making some collages from recent botanical Gelli Plate prints. Here is a detail of one of them, showing the overlay of the ripped pieces of prints and the outline of some of the botanical subjects. They’re going to be scanned professionally and massively enlarged for an exhibition in January.
